Imagine:

 

A space where creativity and the sense of smell merge to bring to life a fragrance made by you. This is not just a workshop—it is a sensory laboratory, a place dedicated to learning, experimentation, and aromatic discovery.

 

What will you experience?

• Sensory exploration: we will dive into a universe of around 20–23 raw materials (essential oils and aroma molecules). You will discover their olfactory families, learn their names, and—most excitingly—how to combine them to create something entirely new.

• Personalized design: with the tools and knowledge you gain, you will design a fragrance that tells your own story, reflecting your personality and style, in a space specially created for learning perfumery.

• Your own creation: at the end of the workshop, you will take home a bottle (e.g., 10 mL) containing the essence you designed—a true olfactory artwork that no one else in the world will have.

 

You will also receive:

• A selection of 20–23 aromatic ingredients to experiment with during the workshop.

• A complete dossier with the theory we will cover: olfactory families, raw materials, the art of blending, and a guide for your future creations.

• And most importantly: a new olfactory perspective that will stay with you, and a space (my studio) where you can feel comfortable learning, creating, and sharing.

• Location: at SMELL LAB BERLIN

• Duration: approximately 3 hours (or as agreed for private workshops)

• Level: no previous knowledge of perfumery is required

• Important: this workshop is not suitable for people with high sensitivity to fragrances

 

About the instructor:

Klara Ravat is an olfactory artist born in Barcelona. After studying qualitative trend research in Barcelona, she moved to the Netherlands, where she completed a BA in ArtScience at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, while also studying psychology at the UOC.

 

Ravat is the founder of Smell Lab, an artistic research community dedicated to the sense of smell. In 2017, she joined The Institute for Art and Olfaction to co-produce the first Experimental Scent Summit. Her experience as an olfactory artist, combined with her background in qualitative research and psychology, provides her with a multidisciplinary approach to deeply understanding the processes behind human perception.
