DAY 1: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9

WELCOME TO THE DESERT!

​

Arrival at our hotel and check-in. We will be waiting for you at Chez le Pacha, a charming hotel in M'Hamid. “A gem in a bejeweled case“ – this is how the Dakhamat family loves to describe the Chez le Pacha. This gem, hidden amid the palms of Ouled Driss, is the fruit of lifelong experience and unlimited passion for the traditional architecture and the Moroccan artisanry – all whilst maintaining an ecologically responsible environment. The Kasbah Chez le Pacha is protected by two magnificent towers and is located approx. 5 km outside of M’hamid. The rooms which welcome you at the Chez le Pacha have been constructed around the flower gardens. Each room measures 32 m² and is simply but tastefully decorated. The rooms offer you a classic and authentic ambiance, ensuring a restful and tranquil stay.

DAY 2: THURSDAY OCTOBER 10

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

​

Breakfast at our hotel.

​

10 am - Welcome! At our workshop room, Klara Ravat will introduce the week-program while we are still drinking our tea and freshly prepared orange juice. This is the perfect timing to get to know each other: short round of introductions.

​

11 am - Introduction to the history and culture of the area by a local guide. Our Local guide will introduce us to the local history and culture of the area. 

​

12 pm - Walking tour of M'Hamid El Ghizland. We will walk through the town, localize useful practical spots (shops, pharmacy, restaurants...) and get a sense where are we at.

​

1 pm - Lunch in a local restaurant or we have the possibility of having couscous with a Berber family.

​

4 pm - Introductory Workshop to our Nomadic Perfume Lab. During this workshop, we will blind smell part of our ingredient collection at our Nomadic Perfume Smell Lab. We will describe and classify our ingredients, so we all have a basic structure on how to work the coming days at our own path.

​

8 pm - Dinner at our Hotel.

DAY 3: FRIDAY OCTOBER 11

TOURING THE AREA

​

10 am - Meeting at the hotel reception

​

10:15 am - Visit Kasbah.

​

1 pm - Lunch in a local restaurant. You can choose your favorite spot, or we will arrange a group lunch!

​

2:30 pm - Meeting at the Snack Razougui Cafe. We will drink tea before taking our arranged transport to Argan Oil making facilities.

​

2:45 pm - Visit Argan Oil facilities. Argan oil is a plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree, endemic to Morocco. It is not only a tree that provides food and a huge socioeconomic function (its production supports about 2.2 million people) but also has a key role against the desertification suffered in the area: The trees' deep roots help prevent desert encroachment. We will return with our arranged transport to our hotel.

8 pm - Dinner at the hotel.

​

10 pm - Live Music by local musicians. The soul of Sahara is definitively a musical one! You will be delighted by the electric guitar sounds and the Hassani chants.

DAY 4: SATURDAY OCTOBER 12

YALLAH! THE DESERT AWAIT US!

​

10 am – Meeting at the reception

​

10:15 am YALLAH! (Off we go) to Er Chigaga! About 60 Km away from M'Hamid, we will travel with 4x4 to the biggest ergs in Morocco! The location is spectacular, beautiful silky dunes will surround us, this is the perfect spot for some rest, reflection, walking, and to work on our fragrances in deep peace.

11:15 am Check-in at our Camp. 

​

11:30 am Trekking. We will do a treck to the biggest erg in Er Chigaga!

 

2 pm Lunch at our Camp (possibility of packing lunch to the trek).

 

4 pm Work at your own path. The afternoon will be dedicated to working on our own creations. We will transport the Nomadic Smell Lab with us!

DAY 5: SUNDAY OCTOBER 13

SMELL, SMELL, SMELL, SMELL!

​

10:30 am Work at your own path. We will continue working on or scent designs. 

​

1:30 pm Lunch at the Camp.

​

3 pm Free time. This time can be used to work at the lab, read a book, have a walk, or simply enjoy the amazing landscape! 

​

8 pm Dinner at the camp.

​

Night: music under the stars. Do you remember those times when we were kids and the sky was clean and clear? Wait for the shiny sky in the desert.

​

DAY 6: MONDAY OCTOBER 14

SOUK & PERFUME MAKING

​

8:30 am Return to M'hamid.

​

10:00 am Visit Souk. The Market in M'Hamid is colorful and very varied happening every Monday morning. You will find yourself in the middle of vegetables, fruits, and camel trading!

​

12:30 pm Lunch in town.

​

2 pm Work, work, work! Smell, smell, smell! Blend, blend and blend!

​

8 pm Dinner at the hotel

DAY 7: TUESDAY OCTOBER 15

BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!

​

10:00 am Scent Evaluation. During this session, we will share what we have been working on, smell each other's creations and give constructive feedback. 

​

2 pm Lunch. You can choose if you would like to go out to town or rather stay concentrated in our facilities.

During the afternoon we will take in some of the fabulous feedback by the group and focus back to our fragrances.

​

8 pm Dinner at the hotel

​

Night: music maestro! Our last night will be filled with music and celebration!

DAY 8: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 16

HUGS & KISSES

After 7 sweet and hardworking days together, it will be time to say see you later alligator, hasta la vista, until very soon to your new family of friends!
